We all take passport photos at one point or the other. Whether for formal or non-formal uses, we have all had the ‘privilege’ of having to source out a studio in order to have our passport photographs taken. However, not all of us know that passport photos come in different types/sizes.
Most people don’t realize all the laws and restrictions surrounding Kenya passport photos and find the process of having a passport photo taken to be long, tedious, and sometimes, overly expensive. However, it doesn’t need to be that hard.
Here is all you need to know about Passport size Photos
• 38 by 50 (38*50)
There are the regular/normal passport size photos. These can have more than one use. These include, but are not limited to; school registrations, insurance cards etc
• 25mm by 25mm (25*25)
This is the standard size of the photograph used for your national Id card. The preciseness of it is the reason why the photos are taken at the application station for your ID.
• 35 by 45 (35*45)
This type of passport photo is used mainly for the Kenyan driving license and also for European Union countries visa applications.
• 2 In by 2 In (50mm*50mm)
Perhaps the most common type of photo that Kenyans take when visa season is nigh. There are the standard photos that you take when you are applying for a visa or to make applications at any embassy.
The next time you visit a local studio to have your passport photo taken, impress the photographer by using your new found knowledge on passport photos.
